15′: Dynamo has had the better start. A bad touch in the box from a Fenerbahce defender should have lead to the first goal but the pass was behind Bangoura. Aliyev has been menacing on the left flank, and had a go from 25 yards, but the ball was on his left and the shot went high. Fenerbahce is pressuring high with their forwards, but are aimless when they have the ball. Only chance for the Turks has come from a long free kick hoisted into the box.

Apparently my internet connection can’t handle http requests on top of a 500k SopCast stream, so trying to post updates during the match was pointless. After controlling the game most of the first half, Dynamo allowed Fenerbahce the majority of possession heading into the break, and it stayed that way throughout the second half. A rather perplexing switch of Bangoura for Maksim Shatskikh at halftime left Dynamo without a danger man at the point of the attack. Shatskikh couldn’t find his first touch, and was way off target with his only opportunity in front of goal. Dynamo lost El Kaddouri to a serious-looking foot injury early in the second half, with Andriy Nesmachniy taking his place. Fenerbahce’s playmaker Alex also left the game banged up. It was a very physical encounter with a combined 32 fouls, and in the end the teams settled for a 0-0 draw. I will post a full recap tomorrow.
